I know for a fact that one of the Science teachers at A. Maceo Smith quit because he was assaulted (punched in the face) by a student. The principal suspended the kid for 3 days, and when the kid came back to school, he threatened the teacher again. The teacher went back to the principal, only to be told that "Its your responsibility now". For a principal to say this to a teacher is asinine and totally unprofessional. What if the kid brought in a gun or knife and harmed the teacher again? Would it have been "his responsibility" then also? This principal is obviously a joke and should be fired immediately.
