Reservations can be made in person at any city facility that conducts city business.
Persons seeking to make reservations should appear in person and bring two (2) forms of identification which may include a driver's license, social security card, water bill or other utility bill, a bank statement or income tax refund.
A required security deposit may be made by money order, cashier's check or certified check. Should the reservation be denied, a person shall make application for refund by use of the appropriate form. The refund of the deposit, if granted, shall be the for the full amount less a $25 processing fee.
Though we use the term "reservations," potential guests should be aware that the term used, with the Dallas Convention Center Hotel, is quite different than its customary use at other privately-owned hotel facilities.
Reservations are simply "suggestions" that, when accepted by one of our facilities, may entitle the person making reservations to a room. The city shall not be responsible for any city entity that fails to forward reservation forms to the hotel's department of bureaucracy.
A person making a reservation who fails to show up in the hotel before 4:30 PM on the day of the reservation shall be issued a citation for failure to appear. If the reservation is for five (5) consecutive days or longer, the person making the reservation may be subject to arrest and detention.
Further, regular convention attendees may expect to be denied a room in the event someone of higher political status should seek the same room (example: the brother-in-law of a city council member or a State Representative who has been removed from her apartment).
Again, a person denied a reserved room may make application for the return of his or her security deposit, less a $25 refund processing fee.
