"Juice" And Politics

Ever wonder how bad it could get in the Dallas political arena? The LA Times has been running a series on judicial corruption in Las Vegas (big surprise). But it underscores the need to keep politicians "in check."
Last month we had an election for DISD School Board. In District 9, out of 45,000 registered voters only 1,120 went to the polls.
"But it was just a silly school board race."
It was electing one of 9 people to watch over $1,858,572,459 of taxpayer money.
Makes you think, doesn't it.
Dallas is certainly not Las Vegas. However, with a little more voter apathy and less involvement from good people, we could quickly end up in the same situation.
