The Easiest Money Ever Made...

Michael Davis  2006-07-13 06:09

...is going to be uncovering some of the ridiculousness that went on with these p-cards.

My suggestion: look at all of the even number charges query that Allen set up. Some people made multiple charges within the same day totaling THOUSANDS.

Also, some of the companies are listed as jewelry, watch, and silverware goods.

One employee spent over $4,000 over 5 separate charges to one jewelry store. Also the same person had multiple charges of even amounts of $1,000 to places like WalMart and others. If they don't have receipts, and they don't have it they should put a lien on their retirement plans. THIS IS THAT BAD!

At a previous employer, I saw a guy with a $75,000 expense budget get fired over buying a $100 golf shirt for himself in front of a client.

This will be the easiest money that those auditors ever make.

Has anyone read the manual
queenie  2006-07-15 19:55

Has anyone read the manual that was posted in the original DMN article?

There are different types of pcards that allow different things, such as travel, airline, etc. Don't just look @ the vendor and automatically assume that something is amiss. Hopefully whoever the investigator is reads more than just the DMN article or this website.

Jewelry & Liquor P-Cards
Inquiring Minds  2006-07-19 19:45

To the previous comment....but is it right to have a p-card for liquor and jewelry charges at taxpayers expense?

If so, give me your card!! I don't think so!!

[Ed Note: I've always said: "the only people who need taxpayer-funded credit cards are the ones who you'd give a card of your own to!" Right... I didn't think so!]
