DISD Board President Jack Lowe reminded everyone at the April Board meeting that when we get wrapped up focusing on the problems in the District, sometimes we forget there are good things.
The OpEd starts out: "If you're a parent with school-aged children living in the Dallas Independent School District, the simple, cynical temptation is to throw up your hands, if only to block out the steady beat of negative headlines."
When we keep the pressure on the "bad things" and remember that there are indeed "good things" happening in the District, the DISD will, indeed, rise to its rightful place as a quality urban school district.
