Blaming Laura Miller For The Tollroad?
Allen Gwinn 2007-10-30 05:20 City of Dallas
With all the good reasons to vote "Yes" we wonder why there's a need for this? It seems terribly divisive and not really accurate. We hope this sort of thing stops now. Poor little Laura Miller

Are you serious?? Are you actually tying to garner sympathy for failed carpetbagger Mayor Laura (aka Horror Miller) Miller? Stop right there!! You can have the meeting in a Phone Booth. This woman planned to use the City of Dallas to launch a historic Political Career. She failed miserably in larger part because she has no real human compassion. She's a Hillary Clinton starter kit! Ms Miller never cared about the City of Dallas, she's a wanna be Socialite with a healthy disdain for the great unwashed masses. Exhibit 1: Black people are some of the most loyal people you'll find, ms Miller had unfettered support from the African American community. What did she do? She went on a crusade to humiliate and discredit the 1st Black Police Chief Dallas ever had. Apparently she didn't do here Dallas History lessons, that was a bad move. Say what you want about Terrell Bolton, he was a descent God-Fearing man who played by the rules and worked his way up the ladder. But in Ms Miller's world it's all about "image", he would have been better suited to do her yard work twice a week, how could he be the Police Chief of a Major City?? I could go on and on, her tenure truly was Horrible!!! Nice try but Please!!! Hanging Ms Miller picture up and down Industrial Blvd might go a long way to sober up a lot of wayward fellows. I'm sure homeless people still wake up in the middle of the night screaming....... Laura NO!!!! [Ed Note: ...but since you bring it up, I hate to disagree with you: Terrell Bolton was the worst mistake this City ever made in a police chief. We will be feeling the effects of his questionable hires and decisions for decades. That being said, I'll acknowledge that he was a very decent Assistant Chief. It's just that when he was promoted to chief, he was out of his league. Not to defend Laura and some of her decisions (many of which were not the ones I would have made), but I feel it is wrong to blame the toll road on her.] Bolton

I didn't try and build a case for Terrell Bolton as Peace Officer of the Year. Personally I think Mr. Bolton was "too" God Fearing, when you have that kind of power and you don't use it to "insulate" yourself from the inevitable challenge to your Power, guess what's going to befall you? So I'm not saying he had a clue, just that he was a nice guy that didn't deserve to be cast historically as an Idiot. However, nice guys do tend to finish LAST. [Ed Note: And then it could be that there are just some people who are miscast for certain roles. Just because someone is a good Assistant Chief doesn't necessarily make them a good Chief. The City is just as much to blame for putting him in that position as he is for trying to do the job.] |
