Hinojosa? President? TD Industries?

When news broke of the $64 million dollar "oversight," Board President Jack Lowe shouldered up with the Superintendent and shared responsibility for the lost dollars.

Lowe continues to be a staunch supporter to this day.

So this led me to an idea I'd like to pose to Jack:

Jack, if you still believe in the Superintendent's acumen in managing a $1.7 billion public budget, what about a private-sector budget?

Perhaps the issue can be solved as a win-win if you would offer him the President's chair at TD Industries (or perhaps another senior level executive position at the company).

Remember: the best way to show solidarity and support for a person is to grab yourself a stake in his future.

I'll wait for your answer.

Jack could only be out a salary

Allen,

You have to keep in perspective that Jack could not make a $64 million red ink boo boo at TDI even if he tried with his entire being. The weight of the instant, stop action, temporary injunction filed on behalf of the interest of THE EMPLOYEE OWNED AND OPERATED BUSINESS, alongside the suit for PROTECTION OF ASSETTS DUE TO PROVABLE INSANITY on the part of the inherited majority stockholder would prevent it. Add to that a forfeture of voting and directorial rights, filed on behalf of fellow stockholders, would strip him of all but his monthly stipend and more than likely strip him of enough of his inherated stock to prevent him from trying it again. Unlike school districts, bussinessess do have certain legal protections under the law.

To do even better, I bet Jack cant even take money out of the bussiness that exceeds the legally agreed upon yearly limit or percentage of profits as denoted by his stock shares This is a whole diff ball game isnt it?

And just think what a different school district this could have been if JACK had applied some of THAT BUSSINESS ACUMAN to the school board during his reign, oops, term as school board president!

Kress to the rescue

I like the idea of Jack hiring Michael. But in case that doesn't work out, maybe Sandy can come up with a program to make more millions. For his new No Supe Left Behind (I wish I could take credit for coining this one, but alas some blogger beat me to it) I have some candidates. Our Coach might be at the top of his class along with Rudy Crew. I bet they could book a cruise on Ser Veza II and some how that too would be at taxpayer's expense.

Playbook by Moses

Hey, the play of "come to Dallas and use the superintendency as a springboard for bigger and better" worked for Moses.

That's the Moses of pcard, Kinkos, and Coleman fame.

Find Michael at least a board position to plant his butt. There, he can spit out the self-help mediocrity of the week or parrott what he hears the big boys saying.Or Moses could add Michael to his executive search firm for school superintendents. Both of them could still live off the public spigot.

Ask Ron Kirk about that PR gig for TXU. Kirk posted his name on Dallas Achieves, so it's time to really help DISD and find the superintendent a high-paying slot.

Where's Voyager when we need them? Oh, yeah stock went into the dumper.

Randy Best--he's the man behind all the men. Ask Randy about his play for the week (for profit grad degrees by Moses), and see if he can't find room for Michael.

We certainly don't want to leave Michael with a mortgage he can't get rid of in this economy. That's just for the common folks.

How about a movie deal? "How I Tanked One of the Biggest School Districts in America," with a supporting cast of Collier, Micheaux, Olson, and a host of financial advisers, all directed by Eli Broad.

Hinojosa for president

I have seen Jack! I know Jack! I have worked with Jack! Mr. Hinojosa, you are no Jack!

Why was a Lowe family run restaurant allowed to cater........

the " going-away" party for a long time trustee at 3700 Ross Avenue? I know, I was there! I always thought that was a conflict of interest in allowing that to happen? Accountablity is low priority when DISD is allowed to spend funds. The food from this restaurant is always good by the way, is close to Love Field!

Any comments?

Going Away Party

Is this true? Did you know that absolutely nothing was done for the mass of people who retired this year? Not even a lousy ice-cream party, not a card, not a thank you, nothing! I find that very sad when a reception was held like this one. What's up with that?

Lowe Restaurant

More details, please? When, where, what, how? Did DISD spend District money?

Jack Lowe

Never Trusted the man from the first time I meet him 2 years ago, give it time and once again, Women's Intuition

Women's Intuition wins again. Met the man for the first time 2 years ago and sensed a nervousness. Dirty little secrets always have a way of coming out. When will DISD learn, there are Some People in the District for the right reasons and it's a shame, those can only talk about it on the blogs, for fear of their jobs...while others do as they please.

So many people I've met who work for the District would love to write a book.....But where do you start? Everyone is mixed up in so much like a batch of angel hair pasta. I'm sure They even forget who they need to keep track of, not to let something slip out !

Edwin ---Shame on you too. How long could you keep your family secrets. DISD isn't good enough for your family. And wanting to go forth on the agenda, last week for the Teach for America. You said they didn't accept the Rice Graduate who is over the ASP program at TJ. I know her..she's wonderful and if she did get 8 million in schlorships...it's their lose for not accepting her for their program. That should say something right there.. We are getting rid of teachers, when there's openings, let our teachers, come first. Teach for America...what a joke...from a parent standpoint, I would rather have someone who teaches causes it's in their heart and that's what they went to school for....Not someone who couldn't make it in the corporate world and now wants to teach. I don't care if DISD makes Money off it or not, they don't stick around.
