LULAC: Hill and Lee Must Resign

Dallas LULAC Council 4496 calls upon City of Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill & Dallas City Plan Commissioner D’Angelo Lee to resign immediately.

The citizens of District 5 deserve representation based on a sound foundation cornered on integrity, ethics, and moral values. Sadly, the citizens of Dallas and Pleasant Grove deserve better than what they have at this time.

Why would Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill even entertain reappointment of Commissioner Lee when according to media reports, Mr. Lee accepted consulting fees and benefits for real estate projects He voted for on the plan commission? Why would Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill allow Commissioner Lee to have the access code to the City of Dallas mayoral suite?

As a resident, business owner, and taxpayer of District 5 I’m appalled Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill would entertain maintaining status quo on Mr. Lee’s appointed position and now is playing the race card in regard to this issue.

Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill talks much about the southern sector. The southern sector within District 5 includes a growing Hispanic population which is very disheartened by the recent actions of both Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill and City Plan Commissioner Lee.

I have received numerous calls on this issue. Playing the race card may have worked in the 1960’s but it will not work in 2005.
