Administrative Leave

What does it mean if a principal is removed from his school under "administrative leave" and a principal (interim) is taking control of the school.
Is it any chance that the "old" principal could come back to his school?

ad-min leave

Yes they can. Old saying in the DISD screw up and get a promotion is more likely, if they are a friend or EX.- fiancé of the superintendent
They hire unqualified people. Then had to do damage control when they can not handle the job. One unqualified assistant principal has multiple DUI's, one coming from the Bryan Adams Christmas party. Was covered up by the administrator in charge also not qualified. And not reported to Texas education agency within the proper time limits. Principal allowed her to evaluate teachers Monday after weekend binges. This is a unscrupulous administration is even rumored that Superintendent was in on the cover up. Because of a friend of a "friend" (FB). Now both of them are trying to get promotions and probably will.
