WHO: The Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas

WHAT: The Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas is hosting its annual Race for Wishes in Irving, Texas. The North Texas Chapter is combining its Southwest and Central regions and encouraging both communities to put one foot forward to grant the wishes of children fighting life-threatening medical conditions. Participants of the 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run/walk will enjoy a day of exercise, breakfast, friendly competition and the opportunity to raise money for children in their communities.

WHEN: Saturday, March 27, 2010
7:00 a.m. – Registration begins
8:15 a.m. – Pre Race Ceremonies
9:00 a.m. – 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk and 5K Run/Walk Begins

Every day that I leave home, drive to my business, take my kids to activities, buy groceries and gas, etc. I don't have a huge legacy in mind here, just an average citizen that tries hard to follow rules. Average, or maybe not. You see in Dallas it has become average for a person not to give a ...t (hoot). The average Dallas resident doesn't keep a clean yard or home, they litter at will, they speed up behind anyone doing the speed limit to intimidate the other person over out of their way, they don't smile and greet people who they interact with daily.

I'm kind of sad that this website chose not to express any condolances for Sr. Cpl. Norman Smith or his family. He was one of the good guys.....

Jim Schultz wrote a very interesting article in the Dallas Observer about Leppert's efforts to delay the Inland Port in the southern part of Dallas, so that he can aid the Perots and Alliance Airport.

Leppert should remember that the Inland Port will generate good jobs for Dallas citizens, who pay sales taxes, and property taxes.

This is especially important given the current economic meltdown with various companies laying off employees.

Why is Leppert behaving so irresponsibly?

After speaking with many residents (Fair Park) of the city of Dallas, I have learned that Carolyn Davis and Mayor Tom Leppert does little to enforce the compliants made by citizens through Code Compliance. Because Ms. Davis has lived in this particular area for a good portion of her life, she knows the various streets and buildings that are very much overdue for a massive overhaul! Many buildings along Malcom X Blvd. and M.L.K.
